Green New Deal Equality in the economic crisis 12:30-1:30 pm Lunch 1:30pm-2:50pm Rise of the East — the shifting centre of the world economy Regenerating London’s Economy London — The rise of the creative economy 3pm-4:30pm Economic policies to meet the crisis Ken Livingstone said: ‘The dominant economic orthodoxy since Thatcher and Reagan has been smashed by the deepest economic crisis since 1929. The alternative traditional Keynesian may not be sufficient to meet this crisis. In order to find a way through, and protect the lives of the great majority who have no control over the forces shaping this situation, it is imperative to raise the level of debate to understand the real causes, likely consequences and what must be done to address the global crisis. This conference will be an opportunity to do just that.’ Media Media wishing to attend the conference should complete the accreditation form. You can download the form here. The conference is organised by Progressive London, a cross-party, cross-community forum, initiated by Ken Livingstone, which campaigns for policies to improve London and the quality of life for Londoners.
