Bad Fare Day

Today Boris Johnson has hit Londoners with the biggest ever fare increase in real terms in Transport for London's history. Some fares are increasing by 20%. Read more about the fare increases here, here, and here.

Unite the Union have organised to leaflet at key transport hubs, in particular at bus interchanges where the biggest increases will hit the hardest, across London on Monday, 4th January.

Help is needed to give out the leaflets at transport hubs on 4th January 2010. If you can help please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it letting us know your local work or home area and the approximate time you can leaflet and we will send you the details of a station close where you can pick up and distribute the leaflets.

An Early Day Motion (EDM) has been tabled in Parliament against the fare increases. We have set-up a simple tool which enables you to quickly and easily contact your MP and urge them to sign the EDM. Take action. Contact your MP now by clicking here.

Public Transport is supposed to be affordable to all. How the hell are you supposed to get people out of their cars when Public Transport is becoming so expensive. It will soon become cheaper to run Two cars the way things are going!
